Incredible aerial photographs of the holiest place in Islam have emerged as Muslim worshippers gathered to pray at the Grand mosque during Ramadan.

The city of Mecca welcomed millions of Muslims on Lailat al-Qadr, or Night of Power, who marked the night on which the Koran was revealed to Prophet Mohammad by Allah.
