pounds 10m of cocaine seized at airport
More than 100kg of cocaine, with a street value of pounds 10m, has been seized at Heathrow airport, it emerged yesterday.
The cocaine was discovered on Wednesday morning hidden within a consignment of books and paper from Belgium; the drugs are believed to have been destined for Liverpool. News of the find came as Scotland Yard announced a 26 per cent rise to 3,785 in the number of drug trafficking offences detected in London, plus 27,000 drug seizures and nearly 28,000 possession offences.
