Questions and Answers: Half landmine stock destroyed

HALF the military's stock of anti-personnel landmines will have been destroyed by July, the Defence Secretary George Robertson announced yesterday

Mr Robertson said in a Commons written answer that the Government was making "rapid progress" towards its target of total destruction of all its stocks by 1 January 2000.
