Red Cross images of war
PICTURES of Kosovar refugees taken by a Macedonian photographer and printed in the Independent on Sunday last month are to be exhibited at the Royal Academy of Arts.
The images, chosen from 26,000 passport-sized photographs, feature in the launch of Gallery Week 1999.
Gallery Week is sponsored by the IoS and organised by a group called Engage.
The photographer, Izami Luta, gave his services to enable the refugees to obtain a Red Cross identity card, giving access to shelter and medical help. The show opens on Friday.
