JOHANNESBURG (Reuter) - The right-wing boycott of South Africa's first all-race elections crumbled yesterday when the white Freedom Front confirmed its participation, minutes before a midnight deadline for the nomination of candidates.

The Inkatha Freedom Party of Zulu chief Mangosuthu Buthelezi was the only major faction to fail to meet the deadline for next month's voting.

An official for the electoral commission said the Freedom Front had submitted a list of candidates. 'They have satisfied the minimum requirement and their name will be on the ballot paper among 27 participating parties.'
