Russell Brand calls Fox News ‘a fanatical terrorist propagandist organisation’ after charged Iraq rant
The comedian-cum-aspiring revolutionary hits out at one of the network’s news hosts
Russell Brand has branded Fox News "a fanatical terrorist propagandist organisation", after one of the network’s legal analysts, Jeanine Pirro, described ISIS in the same way.
She also gave her ideal solution in dealing with the Jihadist militant group responsible for recent violence in Iraq and Syria.
“Bomb them, keep bombing them, bomb them again,” she said.
On a video recorded for YouTube channel, entitled 'Is Fox News More Dangerous Than Isis?', Brand criticised Pirro’s “volatile combative, angry language”.
“This isn’t reasonable, is it? Like the way she’s talking?” Brand commented. “‘Bomb them! Bomb them!’ She’s worse… She’s the savage, she’s totally espousing savage values.”
“It’s invective, just incendiary language, just volatile combative, angry language,” he continued.
“That – I’m not being sensational – that is more dangerous than ISIS. That’s attitude. That’s far-reaching. That’s affecting millions and millions of people.”
It’s been a busy week for Brand who on Saturday 21 June addressed around 50,000 protesters at an anti-austerity march in London’s Parliament Square where he called for a “peaceful, effortless, joyful revolution”.
He was also one of numerous high-profile names to have written to David Cameron this week campaigning for the decriminalisation of drugs.
