Traps baited with cat and fish food are being used to track "killer" shrimp in British rivers, the Environment Agency has announced.

The Dikerogammarus villosus shrimp from the Black and Caspian seas has a vociferous appetite and poses a threat to native wildlife such as damselflies and water boatmen, say scientists.
