At the monument to Daniel O'Connell, the 19th century patriot, one of thousands of Dubliners who watched yesterday's St Patrick's Day parade. In Washington President Bill Clinton met Albert Reynolds, the Irish Prime Minister, and urged Sinn Fein to back the Downing Street Declaration.
