Ross Perot, the billionaire who took 19 per cent of the vote in the 1992 US presidential election, insisted that his new Reform Party was not driven by his personal ambition. But his appearance on CNN's Larry King Live show, where he announced his intention to run four years ago, heightened speculation that he would enter the 1996 race.
