The High Court ruled that two health authorities did not act unlawfully by not investigating a doctor's handling of suspected sex abuse cases. The parents of eight children who complained about the clinical judgement and procedures followed by Dr Heather Richardson, a consultant paediatrician, had their cases for judicial review dismissed. The parents said South East Thames Regional Health Authority and Canterbury and Thanet District Health Authority had failed to properly follow the formal independent review procedure.
