Actress Isabella Rossellini modelling a silk tuxedo and lace bustier at the opening of the Dolce & Gabbana collection in Milan yesterday which kick started the international fashion shows for spring- summer 1995, writes Marion Hume.

There were two main themes to the collection, tailoring and corsetry, sculpted to supermodel bodies like the tightest of second skins. There were tight trouser suits and below-the-knee pencil skirts, and underneath went the corsets - which also appeared on their own, extended down into curvy dresses. The colour scheme was black, black and more black. Shiny black stiletto sandals made the bottoms and bosoms of the supermodels wriggle even more than usual.
