Advert cleared
The Advertising Standards Authority rejected complaints against an advertisement for the clothes retailer Benetton, which depicted a sea-bird covered with oil bearing the words 'Shetland Islands, January 1993'. The authority did not believe the advertisement, which was published in the Independent, caused such offence as to breach its code.
