Aircraft ruling
The compulsory fitting of water spray systems in aircraft cabins to prevent the kind of fire that caused the Manchester air disaster has been ruled out on cost grounds, the Civil Aviation Authority said. Fifty-five people died when a British Airtours jet caught fire on take-off in 1985.
