BBC promises more classic serials
The BBC pledged yesterday to make three classic serials a year in the wake of the success of Middlemarch as it unveiled a new season of drama which includes Paul Schofield in Dickens' Martin Chuzzlewit. The pounds 200m spending on drama emphasises popular series and serials.
