Beatles miss Isle of Wight
The second Isle of Wight pop festival will go ahead in July, but the three remaining Beatles will not perform together there.
Councillors on the island have approved the festival - the first in 1970 attracted 250,000 people - but Paul McCartney's publicist, Geoff Baker, said his client had no plans for any concerts this year. Headline groups are being sought for the five-day show before 50,000 fans. The organisers offered the ex-Beatles pounds 2.5m to perform, but Mr Baker added: 'Paul thinks you cannot have a Beatles reunion without John Lennon.'
