Beer writer's award
MICHAEL JACKSON, the Independent's beer correspondent, was presented with an award by Prince Philippe of Belgium for his contribution to the popularity of Belgian beers. It is the first time the Mercurius Prize, made to foreigners by the Belgian government, has gone to a writer.
