Bomb attack

Several civilians living near the police station in Springfield Road, West Belfast were treated for shock after a bomb attack on the base. Earlier, near the centre of Belfast, a loyalist gunman opened fire with an automatic rifle in a butcher's shop. No one was seriously hurt.
