Lawyers, accountants, property specialists and landlords are the target audience of the Property Forum, a "virtual meeting place" launched as a World Wide Web site on the Internet by the accountants BDO Stoy Hayward. Users do not have to pay membership fees but are encouraged to register their details in order to be kept up to date with developments and information.
Andrew White, head of the Mergers Secretariat at the Office of Fair Trading, will be among the speakers at a half-day seminar on bids and mergers being organised by the solicitors Lovell White Durrant and the lobbyists the Public Policy Unit next Wednesday.
AWB goes regional
Younger members of the Association of Women Barristers are taking steps to develop regional groups for those in the Manchester, Nottingham and Southampton areas. The AWB's chairwoman, Barbara Hewson, says the initiative is prompted by the expense for women outside London of travelling to events. She points out that the Association of Women Solicitors has several regional groups.
Professor Andrew Burrows, head of the Law Commission team that recently completed its study of joint and several liability, is the principal speaker at a seminar on the subject being hosted by the accountants Deloitte & Touche tonight at the Carpenters' Hall, Throgmorton Avenue, in the City of London.
