Bus drivers announce more one-day strikes
Travellers face further disruption in the capital with two more one-day bus strikes announced by the Transport and General Workers' Union. The first stoppage will be next Monday, 26 April and the second on Monday 10 May. In addition, the union said it was stepping up non-strike action and lobbying Parliament.
The TGWU is objecting to what it sees as London Bus's imposition of wage-cuts and longer hours in preparation for privatisation and its refusal to give assurances on the future of staff pensions.
