Labour's Alan Simpson said he was 'shocked' at the contents of the papers, passed to him by a solicitor representing the man who found them in West Bridgford, Nottinghamshire - in the constituency of Kenneth Clarke, the Chancellor.
Mr Simpson, MP for Nottingham South, said: 'Not even I should have these documents. It would cause untold damage if some of the details became known.'
A county council spokesman said: 'An immediate inquiry has been instituted by the chief executive.'Reuse content
