Cities honour Nelson Mandela
NELSON MANDELA received the freedom of nine British cities and districts in front of thousands of people at a ceremony in Glasgow, which in 1981 was the first city in Britain to confer its freedom on him. An area near the city's stock exchange was renamed Nelson Mandela Square.
