Council staff asked to take new pay cut
Staff at the Labour-controlled Sheffield council have been asked to take a further 2.75 per cent pay cut, a year after they agreed to a 3.25 per cent cut to save jobs and services. The cut in wages would be part of a pounds 31m cost-saving package including a 90-day notice of 1,150 redundancies.
