A BNP candidate has been charged after a video appearing to show him burning a copy of the Koran was passed to police.

Sion Owens, 41, was named as a BNP candidate for the South West Wales regional list last week. South Wales Police confirmed that a 41-year-old man had been charged with an offence under the Public Order Act on Saturday and remained in custody ahead of an appearance at Swansea magistrates' court today.
