David Walliams' stalker sectioned

An obsessed stalker who threatened to kill Little Britain star David Walliams during a four-year campaign of harassment was sectioned yesterday under the Mental Health Act.

Sarah Bartholomew, 29, of Clacton-on-Sea, Essex, admitted sending a deluge of gifts, letters and emails to the award-winning comedian.

In one letter, she told Walliams: "I have to have you at any cost. I will kill or abduct you, to stop you seeing anyone else."

Bartholomew was also issued with a restraining order banning her from making contact with the star when she appeared at Highbury Corner Magistrates' Court, in north London.
