Deaths of girl and woman 'unexplained'

The bodies of a woman and a five-year-old girl were found by a visitor to a house in Stratford-upon-Avon yesterday morning.

Their "unexplained" deaths are under investigation by police.

The cause of death will not be certain until post mortems have been carried out.

Detective Superintendent Noel McMenamin said: "This is an isolated and tragic incident. Officers have been conducting local inquiries and patrolling the area to provide reassurance to local residents."

The identities of the woman and child have not been made public.
