Former Liberian President Charles Taylor to serve 50-year jail sentence in UK

Charles Taylor, the former Liberian President, will serve his 50-year sentence for crimes against humanity in a British prison, following a request from the Special Court for Sierra Leone.

He was sentenced for aiding rebels who committed atrocities in Sierra Leone during its civil war.

Taylor, 65, was found guilty of 11 crimes including terrorism, rape, murder and the use of child soldiers.
