In pictures: Smash and grab at Selfridges in London

Police have praised the "quick thinking and brave actions" of a student who tackled suspects in a brazen armed robbery by six burkha-clad men in London's Selfridges store.

Armed police were sent to the scene after an axe-wielding gang entered the Oxford Street store just before 8.30pm yesterday and started smashing cabinets.
