An 18-year-old man was tonight charged with the murder of nurse Cheryl Moss who was stabbed to death outside the hospital where she worked.

Stuart Harling, from Rainham, Essex, was arrested on Friday after the discovery of a blue sports bag near the scene of the murder.

Mrs Moss, 33, was killed on Thursday morning as she took a cigarette break outside St George's Hospital in Hornchurch, Essex.

Harling, a trainee accountant, is due to appear in custody at Enfield Magistrates Court tomorrow.

The Nike bag, which is being scrutinised by forensic experts, was found by a member of the public in Upper Rainham Road, near the hospital site, on Thursday night.

Detectives said the contents of the bag had led to the arrest, but refused to reveal what they had found inside.
