Man jailed for stabbing rapper Professor Green
A man has been jailed for stabbing rapper Professor Green in the neck, police said today.
Anthony Jones, 26, of Woodbury Down Estate, Harringay, north London, attacked the star outside a nightclub in May 2009.
Officers gave first aid to Professor Green - real name Stephen Manderson - who had been stabbed in the neck with a glass bottle and suffered a deep cut to his throat.
The 27-year-old was taken to hospital for treatment following the attack outside Cargo nightclub in Shoreditch, east London.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman said Jones was jailed for eight years at Snaresbrook Crown Court today.
He was found guilty of grievous bodily harm with intent at a trial at the same court in October last year.
