Fourteen people were taken to hospital after a car ploughed into a crowd outside a nightclub yesterday morning.

Police have arrested a 26-year-old man on suspicion of attempted murder and are still searching for a second, after their car deliberately mounted the pavement outside the Dali Bar on Packer Street in Rochdale, Greater Manchester.

The car went along the pavement for up to 200 yards before being driven away. It is thought the men in the car had earlier been refused entry into the bar. Seven men and seven women needed treatment for their injuries. The car was found two hours later. Detective Inspector Darren Meeks from Greater Manchester Police said the actions were “incomprehensibly dangerous and reckless”.
