Police have arrested three people in connection with the murder of Pennie Davis in a New Forest field.

The mother-of-five was tending to her horses when she was stabbed to death. She was found by her husband Pete on Tuesday, who she had married just four months before.

Police have arrested one person on suspicion of murder, one on perverting the course of justice, and another for assisting an offender.

All three are being held in custody.

Ms Davis, 47, was a supermarket worker form Blackfield. Her family paid tribute to their "beloved mother, wife, daughter, sister and friend" earlier this week.

A statement released by the family through police said: "Pennie was the kind of woman who once she became your friend she was a friend for life. We are overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and grief that her death has caused.”

Mr Davis, their children and her parents visited the paddock on Thursday morning and left flowers with messages from each member of the family.
