A woman has been arrested after a man in his 40s and four-year-old girl were found dead at a flat in Notting Hill.

Police arrived at a block on Colville Square shortly before 8pm on Friday and – after forcing entry – found two bodies. They were pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

The deaths are being treated as unexplained and the Metropolitan Police’s Homicide and Major Crime Command (HMCC) is investigating the case.

The woman, who is in her 30s, is being questioned over the incident that occurred just off Portobello Road, and has since been in custody at a central London police station.

No one else is being sought in connection with the deaths and formal identification of the bodies is yet to take place.

A post-mortem examination will be scheduled in due course and police are in the process of informing next-of-kin.

Police have not released any information about the nature of the injuries.
