Police name man found strangled in home
Police today named a man who was found strangled in his home.
The body of Brian Finnigan, 65, was discovered at his house in Green Lane, Stoneycroft, Liverpool, on Wednesday afternoon.
A murder inquiry was launched yesterday when post-mortem results confirmed strangulation as the cause of death.
House-to-house inquiries are ongoing.
Detective Chief Inspector Neil Bickley, of Merseyside Police, said: "We are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously towards the end of August near to the West Derby end of Green Lane to come forward.
"I would urge anyone who has any information which can help us with our inquiries to contact detectives immediately in confidence."
