Police were still questioning an 18-year-old girl today on suspicion of murdering her boyfriend hours after collecting her A-level results.

The girl, named in reports as Kat McGrath, was arrested on Friday after police were called to her home in Bridgend, south Wales.

It is understood she had been out celebrating her exam results on Thursday before rowing with her partner Alyn Thomas, 22, and that Mr Thomas was stabbed.

Police and an ambulance crew were called to the house on a quiet cul-de-sac in the Brackla area of the town.
