Tuesday 24 May 2011
Police investigating allegations that Cabinet minister Chris Huhne tried to evade punishment for speeding carried out two interviews today.
Essex Police did not confirm whether the individuals were the Liberal Democrat Energy Secretary and his former wife Vicky Pryce, or whether they had been questioned under caution.
A spokesman said: "Essex Police can confirm that two individuals have been interviewed today, Tuesday, May 24, 2011, at police stations in Essex and London in respect of allegations regarding a speeding offence."
A spokeswoman for Mr Huhne said: "Chris Huhne helped the Essex Police with their inquiries today and looks forward to an early resolution of this issue."
