Prince will not face action in drug inquiry

Prince Harry will not face police action over allegations of cannabis smoking and underage drinking. Police said their investigations into events at the Rattlebone Inn in Sherston, Wiltshire, were now finished.

A spokesman for the Wiltshire force said: "We now consider the matter closed ... None of the inquiries made revealed any involvement whatsoever by Prince Harry or any other members of his family."

A police inquiry was launched in January after allegations that the 17-year-old Prince had been involved in under-age drinking at the pub. Prince Harry had already admitted smoking cannabis and was made to visit the Featherstone Lodge drug rehabilitation centre in south London by his father, the Prince of Wales.

The Prince was said to have drunk with friends in the Rattlebone Inn. There were claims that cannabis was smoked at Highgrove, his father's home in Gloucestershire.
