Two women have been grabbed from behind and sexually assaulted in separate incidents only hours apart in Berkshire.

Both victims were pulled to the ground before the attacker tried to remove their clothes.

Thames Valley Police are investigating whether the two attacks – in Bracknell and Winnersh – are linked.

The first attack, on a 36-year-old woman, was halted after her dog became aggressive. Police are treating the incident, which took place at the park near Dunstans Drive at shortly before 6pm on Thursday, as an attempted rape.

Seven hours later, a 25-year-old woman was dragged towards a bush by an attacker in Coopers Hill, Bracknell — about nine miles from the first attack.

The male attacker, described as being in his 30s, fled from the scene in both instances.

Detective Inspector Jason Liles said: “We are investigating whether the two incidents are linked.

“I also understand that people in the community will be concerned about these two incidents.

“We are in the process of conducting an investigation into both incidents, and I would encourage anyone who has any information which could help to please come forward.”

Anyone with information is asked to call 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
