A man is still recovering from his injuries after a horrific attack saw him kicked while he lay on the ground by two men who high-fived when fleeing the scene, police say.

CCTV footage was released by The Metropolitan Police on Thursday and shows two men rain down blows on the victim outside of a Domino’s Pizza takeaway in Chalk Farm, north London on 5 July last year.

The victim’s 26-year-old female friend also received injuries to her arm as she tried to protect the man.

Moments after the assault, the two men were captured "high-fiving" as they walked towards Primrose Hill in Regent’s Park.

Police described one of the men as a five foot seven blonde male, thought to be aged around 25, with mid-length hair and a pointed jaw. At the time of the attack he was wearing brown trousers and a light shirt.

The other man is a white six foot two man, who is also thought to be around 25, with spiky hair and a skinny build. He was wearing a denim three-quarter length shirt when the incident took place.

Police have appealed for witnesses and anyone with information on the attackers.

Anybody who has information is urged to contact Camden CID on 0207 8733 6588.
