Suspected drink driver hands himself in after crashing into Cheshire police station
No one was injured in the crash in the early hours of Friday morning
A suspected drink-driver ploughed into a police station in Cheshire in the early hours of this morning, before walking around the corner to hand himself in.
The 49-year-old’s car was left with its bumper crushed against the wall of Frodsham station after careering through a fence from an adjacent car park.
The driver is believed to have lost control of his vehicle at around 12.20am.
Cheshire Police posted a picture of the crash on their Twitter account with the hashtag “epic fail”, adding: “Male in Frodsham kindly handed himself in for drink driving #drivenintostationwall.”
He was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving and has been released on bail.
It was not the only drama on Cheshire’s roads today. A driver had a lucky escape when high winds blew a roadside barrier into the path of his car.
The railings went through the passenger side windscreen and out a rear window but no one was injured.
