Tesco store at centre of riots reopens

A Tesco Express store that was at the centre of riots in Bristol reopened yesterday.

Clashes broke out in the Stokes Croft area in April when police raided a nearby squat amid fears that the shop was to be petrol-bombed.

The store on Cheltenham Road was forced to close just six days after it opened because of the extensive damage caused in the riots in which about 300 people were involved.

Michael Kissman, head of property communications for Tesco, said: "It's looking great and we're really pleased customers are coming in and using it again."
