A man has been charged with the murder of a woman whose headless torso was discovered inside a suitcase in Peterborough.
Police officers found the remains at a house in Mayor’s Walk on Friday. The victim has since been identified as Ramute Butkiene, 42, of Mayor's Walk.
The mother-of-one, who was originally from Lithuania, carried out agency work in and around Peterborough.
Ms Butkiene was found with her head, arms and legs missing. A post-mortem examination has failed to establish how she died.
Vytautas Jokubauskas, 57, of Mayor's Walk, is due to appear at Huntingdon Magistrates' Court charged with murder, Cambridgeshire Police said.
Police are now attempting to find further remains, after “some body parts” were found in Peterborough.
A police spokesman said: “Family members in Peterborough and Lithuania have been informed and are being kept up to date by detectives on the investigation.”
