Two men have been arrested by police who seized a rocket launcher and powerful automatic weapons after a mass brawl.

An AK47-style assault rifle, a Second World War machine gun and the rocket launcher were all found by the Metropolitan Police after they were called to East Street in Bromley, London at around 4.30am this morning.

CCTV operators spotted a group of up to 10 men involved in a fight, with one of the suspects apparently carrying what looked to be an assault rifle. Police said the weapons had all been decommissioned.

A police spokesman said: “The group fighting had dispersed upon arrival of officers at the scene, but using CCTV the man with the suspected firearm was traced to a nearby address in Market Square, Bromley.

”Although the weapons were not capable of firing, the presence of firearms in a public place causes panic and fear of violence.“

Two men, aged 32 and 41, were arrested on suspicion of firearms offences, police said.
