A masked gang of robbers stole over £13,000 after they ransacked a number of self-service tills at an Asda in Birmingham.
The robbery, which was captured on the shop’s CCTV, saw four men enter the store in the early hours of morning of 11 January before emptying the four self-service tills and fleeing the scene in a getaway car.
Police report that the men were wearing balaclavas and carrying machetes as they made away with their massive haul of cash.
West Midlands Police have now released the CCTV video in an attempt to get information on the identity of the thieves.
A picture of a man whom police wish to question has also been released by police.
PC Chris Hammond, from the West Midlands Police local investigation team, said: “Enquiries are ongoing to trace the three men responsible who are described as wearing dark clothing and balaclavas.”
“Two were also wearing high-vis vests. Fortunately no-one was injured.”
Police have urged anyone with information to contact the Birmingham East Police on 101 non-emergency number or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”Reuse content
