A woman who tortured a teenage boy by making him drink his own urine and lick up his blood has been sentenced to four years in prison.

During the “humiliating” two-hour ordeal, Kerry Howle smashed a glass ashtray over her 15-year-old victim’s head, forcing him to lick up the blood.

She also made him eat a mouldy sausage roll that she had spat on and coated in cigarette ash.

The 26-year-old subjected the schoolboy to the ordeal after accusing him of talking about her mother who was battling cancer.

“She told him he was dead and threatened to have him kidnapped, kill his mum and cut her tongue out and stitch it to her own mum,” prosecutor Heather Chamberlin told Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court.

Howle then forced another 15-year-old boy to hit the victim, causing his nose to bleed.

“She told him he had to lick the blood up,” said Miss Chamberlin.

When the victim said he needed to go to the toilet, Howle forced him to drink his own urine.

Howle was jailed for four years after pleading guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm and accepting the boy was degraded during the prolonged attack.

Recorder Stephen Lowne said the assault was “one of the most dreadful offences of violence towards children” he has ever come across.

“This is not simply an assault occasioning actual bodily harm, it is both mental and physical torture. An exercise of sadism on your part,” he told Howle.

“You were described as towering over him and he was cowering away from you, and the threats began. This was a long process of intimidation.”

Lowne told Howle she has an appalling history of violence, adding: “You engaged in gratuitous degradation of this young boy and caused others to join in against their will… These children were put through the most dreadful ordeal.”
