Critical drug report 'watered down'

The Government was yesterday accused of 'watering down' a critical report prepared for the Department of Health urging a strategic policy to combat drug misuse, writes Patricia Wynn Davies.

Tony Blair, shadow Home Secretary, claimed key recommendations by a firm of management consultants had been altered. 'The original version contained a stinging criticism of the failure of national government to provide a . . . coherent approach to drug misuse,' he said.
