Divers yesterday recovered the body of Allan McKay, 13, one of two boys missing from their homes in Ayr since last Saturday, from a flooded quarry on St Nicholas's golf course at Prestwick. Police said that it appeared he had drowned in the 70ft deep water and foul play was not suspected.

The search for Iain Allen, 12, will be resumed today. He is 5ft tall, slim, with short blond hair and blue eyes. He was wearing a black bomber jacket and blue jeans. Deputy Divisional Commander Jim Brown said: 'We remain hopeful of tracing the boy alive.' As late as Tuesday evening, a school colleague reported seeing one of the boys near Prestwick airport, he said.
