Fine for driver in lorry death crash
A lorry driver whose runaway 38-ton truck killed a mother-of-two as she sat in her car at traffic lights in St Austell, Cornwall, was fined pounds 300 by magistrates at Bodmin yesterday.
Anette Olsen-Hammond, 36, died almost instantly last March when her car was crushed. The haulier, Brian Daniels, 47, of Elm Park, north-east London, admitted seven offences, including having defective brakes and no operator's or excise licences.
