Fishing boats blockading the port of Liverpool yesterday in a further attempt to protest at EC fishing regulations and fish imports. A flotilla of 35 trawlers from as far away as Grimsby, Fleetwood, Northern Ireland, and Devon, converged at dawn but did not link together. Instead, they kept the trawlers constantly moving, dodging pilot craft and causing at least one Russian container ship to lay off. The protest lasted more than six hours.
