Five men and two women were being questioned by Gardai in Dublin over the abduction and murder of Michael Joseph Godfrey, 54, whose body was found in April in a hedge near Blanchardstown, west of the city.

Detectives believe Godfrey's killing, soon after his release from prison in England, was linked to his involvement in an operation to forge Irish pounds 20 notes.
