Government in Crisis: Defiant miners at Silverhill colliery in Nottinghamshire

Defiant miners at Silverhill colliery in Nottinghamshire, one of the 10 pits still scheduled to close, who failed in their attempt to return to work yesterday. There were angry scenes as the pit manager told more than 100 men that they would not be allowed to cut coal at the mine.
